You may not be at your best financial footing now but getting auto loans with bad credit is not impossible. There are many online lenders catering to this specific group so you need not fear that you will never get that much needed car. Even for those who have undergone bankruptcy, car loans are not impossible.

Still, is your credit score THAT bad? It may not be as bad as what a car dealer or lender is telling you. Remember, a bad credit rate means high interest rates so it’s in your best interest to not only KNOW your credit score but to conduct your own credit evaluation. How? First, get in touch a credit bureau such as Equifax, TransUnion and Experian and ask for your credit report. (It costs about $9 for a report.) Once you have it, study it! There are likely many errors or at least inconsistencies in the credit report that you may like to point out, thus improving your overall rate. For instance, a misunderstanding over a debt’s due date may have occurred and even if you’ve ironed everything out, it’s still recorded negatively in your credit report. Invest time in setting the record straight and you’ll find out that your credit score is not so bad after all… just right for that auto loan you want to get.
